At this point in time I just have a 98 page exerercise book, it's fairly messy. I have notes I've written in, sheets I've printed out and stuck in. I would like to someday get around to making a really nice BoS with herbs sown into it and symbols drawn on and so forth, but since I'm really only just 'forming' my Book of Shaodws (I only started it in August), I feel an exercise book is better. I also use another, smaller exercise book which I call a Book of Reflections where I write meditation worksheets, and other 'diary' related things to do with my path - including New Years resolutions and such.
What does everyone use?

I have a black, leather bound book with 400 pages. I drew the symbol of the three moons w/ a pentagram in the middle on the cover. I got a little ahead of myself and started writing in it before I consecrated and charged, which I will do today. It's big enough that I dedicated a section in the back for dreams. I also have the candle colors and meanings, colors and meanings, oil and herb apothecary in the section before dreams for quick reference. I will be going out and finding my wand today. After reading the qualities of the oak, I believe that is what I will be getting. I will find out when I get out there to the trees. I do have a question though. Do I have to be initiated before I can do any rituals, like the one for finding my wand or casting the circle and invoking the elements? Thanks, GreyMother.

No, not in my opinion. You can be a solitary practitioner. There are no hard and fast rules, just "An it harm none, Do as ye will"!

I have a beautiful little notebook with these cute kids dressed up as fairies on the cover. I took a calligraphy class a couple years ago, so I've done some spells and other lovely things inside this notebook. I've never found the need to call it a BoS. I've just called it my book. Sometimes I can ask my 5 year old to get mommy her book, and out of the trillion I have he will bring that one to me, Its got tons of my entire "lifes" work in there...so I guess in a way it is my BoS, without all the fancy stuff that goes with it. *grins*
