This is a very basic, good, tasty recipe. Pay attention to how good your oven is though, shortbread should be light colored, not brown. INGREDIENTS: 4 cups plain flower 500grams butter 1 and quarter cups sugar Put sugar and flower in bowl together. Sift or 'whisk' them together. Break all the butter into small paces, and place in bowl with flour and sugar, knead into a soft, light colored dough. Take handfuls of the dough, roll out, and cut shapes out and place on ungreased tray - preferably on baking paper. Place in your already heated oven at 160* Celsius, on the slow setting. Cook about 40 minutes, but keep your eye on them. Enjoy!
