Recently the media seems to have been focusing a lot more on underage drinking. Particuarly calling parents how allow their U/18's to drink - or supply drinks to their friends?
Personally, being underage, I appreciate that my parents do allow me to drink. I'm generally responsible - though I have learnt from experience, for example the first time I drank at a party it was an unsupervised party and I was very uncontrollably drunk running out in front of cars and such. However, after being almost literally thrown into a car and driven home, I have learnt some responsibility. Now when I do want to drink, it's either with a few friends, or a small party. My parents are co-operative with this, and I feel that because they have 'helped' ease me into alcohol has helped me learn responsibility, I have seen people whose parents do not support them drinking, and some of them are very irresponsible.
This is genuinely an eons old issue, but what are your feelings about alcohol use among those labelled 'underage'?
